My Story

Hi there!

First of all I'd like to thank you for visiting my website, I hope you get the answers your looking for, if not feel free to mail me and I will be more than happy to help!

A little about me, where do I start, the beginning I suppose!

I have loved makeup for as long as I can remember, from my crayolas as imaginary eyeshadow to the smell of my grandmother's lipstick, there isn't a time I don't remember not loving makeup and the magic that surrounds it.

I have always had a brush in my hand whether that was a paint brush for a wall or a scaled down version for a painting, holding a brush has always felt like second nature for me.

My Makeup career isn't as long as some may think it is, I had a surprise arrival in 2002 at the age of 20 when my eldset son arrived, six years later he had three siblings and motherhood well and truly took over.

I took that time to truly throw myself into my passion, I qualified a distinction from Makeup College but am proud to say I am self taught.

I have spent every spare hour since 2007 perfecting my skill and educating myself in every aspect of makeup as an art form.

I have successfully secured my space as one of Irelands top bridal makeup artists and have dipped my toe into every other area the inductry has to offer.

In the past two years I have started my social media journey where you'll find me @sandragillenmakeup on Instagram reviewing products and demoing for brands daily. I also host events up to 200 attendees and teach both professionals to up skill and general 1-1 lessons.

I have been lucky enough to be part of Dancing with the Stars for the past three seasons where I have gained a wealth of knowledge in live television production. Working on thr show has opened up huge opportunities for me proving that hard work pays off, never give up, do the time and your day will come.

As a mum of now teenagers, I never gave up on my dream and goals of being the best I can be, in a job I was born to do! To say I am passionate about my job would be an understatement.

Personality, appearance, manners, cop on, hard work, perseverance, dedication, commitment, professionalism are all elements I have come to realise are huge roles that play a part equally in being an amazing makeup artist.

One of my favourite things about makeup is you never truly are the best in the business, the day you think you know it all is the day you are finished,  makeup is forever evolving, I as an artist am forever learning, that keeps me engaged and excited to continually grow.

I look forward to working with you the possibilities are endless
